Ron and his wife, Libby, grew up in Bluefield, West Virginia where they attended church, high school, and college together. They have worked as a couple in the ministry since 1968, serving churches in West Virginia, Louisiana, and South Carolina. Ron and Libby have three sons who live in Charleston, SC; Wheaton, IL, and Zurich, Switzerland. While in college, Ron served as a youth minister and music director before entering the pastorate. They both attended seminary in New Orleans. Ron's hobbies include golf, travel, playing with his grandchildren, and dating Libby. He really does like to see both Clemson and South Carolina win (and West Virginia, too).

Ken joined our staff in August 1980. A native of Lake City, South Carolina, he was actively involved in the children’s and music ministries of Lake City First Baptist Church. Feeling that God was calling him to full-time vocational ministry, Ken attended North Greenville Junior College for one year before transferring to Furman University in Greenville, SC. Following his graduation from Furman in 1977 with a B.A. in music, he went on to the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY where he completed his Master of Church Music degree. In 1985, Ken married Juanita McCarty, and ten years later the couple were blessed with the arrival of twins Sarah and Evan.

Charles and his wife, Anne, grew up in Manning, South Carolina. Charles is a graduate of Clemson University and the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Charles practiced dentistry for eight years in Newberry, South Carolina before he was appointed by the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board to serve in the Caribbean as a dentist and church worker. He currently serves as Professor and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at MUSC. In 2003, he joined our staff, where he employs his teaching and administrative skills to develop educational and discipleship programs for our congregation. In his free time, Charles enjoys sports, poetry, and building.

Liz grew up in Mount Pleasant, attended Belle Hall Elementary, and graduated from the Charleston County School of the Arts. During her junior year of high school, Liz felt called out by God to pursue a life of vocational ministry. She studied Christian Ministry at Anderson University and is currently working towards her Masters of Arts at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She joined our staff in 2009 and currently works alongside the Missions Council.

Chip was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky and moved to Mount Pleasant in 1997 where he met his wife, Kristen. Chip and Kristen have three daughters. Having received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from the College of Charleston, he is currently working towards his Master of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chip left the private sector in 2009 to join our staff, and currently serves as the lead Associate Pastor for our Contemporary Service. In his spare time, Chip is an avid reader, sports fan, and honey-do list completer.

Connections Minister & Women’s Ministry Director
Libby, and her husband, Ron, the Senior Pastor of First Baptist, Mt. Pleasant/The Church at LifePark began as sweethearts in high school and remain sweethearts today. They walked together through High School, College, seminary, three sons; and pastoring six churches. Libby works as the Connection Minister for First Baptist Church, which is an effort to get people connected so they can grow and serve together. Libby also coordinates the Girls of Grace Women’s Ministry.
The Lord has used Ron and Libby’s three sons to bless them with seven grandchildren who are Libby’s hobby along with reading.
Kristen was born in Lexington, SC and moved to Mt. Pleasant in the 3rd grade. She became a follower of Jesus Christ at Camp Bonnie Doone as a youth and has been pursuing God's will for her life ever since. Kristen followed God’s direction, after graduating from Wando, to go to Charleston Southern University and pursue an early childhood education degree. There, she met her husband David. After graduation in ’06 she became a kindergarten teacher in Summerville and got married in ‘08. Kristen & David soon felt a stirring in their hearts for change and started praying about where God was leading. In the first few months of her 6th year teaching, Kristen felt God’s answer to their prayers by calling her into full-time children’s ministry. In her spare time, Kristen loves to bake, play with her miniature schnauzer Lily, and spend time with her family.
Jordan was born on March 27, 1987 in Florence, South Carolina. He began a personal relationship with Christ at the age of nine at a Vacation Bible School at his church. At that point, he knew that Jesus saved him from his sins. Now, he tries to live for Christ each day of his life. Jordan graduated from Francis Marion University with a degree in History with a minor in religious studies, and earned his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. While at FMU, he met his wife Lacie (who is a 4K teacher with the Charleston County School district). Before coming to FBC Mt. Pleasant, Jordan served as the Minister of Students at FBC Darlington.
Ron Stroh was born and raised near the Badlands in South Dakota. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Education/Administration from Northern State University in South Dakota. He spent 4 years on active duty and 23 years in the active reserve in the US Navy retiring as a Capt. USNR. During his active duty he completed his Masters of Business at Inter American University in San German, Puerto Rico. He and his wife of 43 years have 3 children and 10 grandchildren. He retired from corporate life and is working for First Baptist Church as Facilities Manager for the two campuses.
CCPS Head of School
Chris is currently completing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Columbia International University. Prior to this, he earned his MBA from Eastern University, Philadelphia, PA. As a teacher Chris hungers to see students embrace their call and to realize that which God has begun, and will be faithful to complete, in them. Because of this drive, he is focused on the mission found in K12 education, and enjoys the work of leading as a teacher and coach, and feels called to serve students, teachers and families. Chris and his wife Miriam (also an Educator) have three children of their own who are all enrolled at CCPS, and the whole family enjoys being active members at FBC.

Becky Hunter was born and raised in Upstate NY with her 4 sisters. Following school she joined the Marines where she met her husband of 30+ years. After moving with the military with her husband and three children for 12 years is happy to call Mount Pleasant their home. Becky has served in the church office for 5 years and in her free time enjoys traveling and time with their family.
Larry has been with First Baptist since 2010 serving as the worship leader. Originally from New York he has lived in Mt. Pleasant since the age of 9. After committing his life to the Lord at age 21 he began serving in various visual arts ministries before surrendering to God’s call into the music ministry. He believes that God’s purpose for man is to bring glory to His name and to worship Him wholeheartedly. Music in worship is a tool that enables us to draw the body of Christ into the presence of God and helps us convey the message of salvation through His son, Jesus Christ. In addition to his position as worship leader, Larry earned an A.A in multimedia design from Trident Tech and works full time as an Instructional Systems Developer.
Larry has been married to his wife Nissa for 9 years and they have 2 wonderful sons, Jude and Shepard. Larry enjoys spending time with his family, fine art, gardening, carpentry and anything having to do with video editing and film-making.
Jenna was born and raised in Gurdon, Arkansas where she grew up in Beech Street Baptist Church. She became a believer at a young age, and she surrendered to serving the Lord through missions at the age of 17. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist Unversity with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Christian Studies with an emphasis in missions. She is pursuing a career in full-time ministry but is currently unsure of what that will look like in the future. She is passionate about discipleship and missions, loves spending time with people, and enjoys the outdoors.
