Our Vision

At First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant (FBC) we understand that our local church is part of the larger universal Church established by Jesus Christ. The Church includes all those who have placed their faith in Jesus, believers throughout all ages, from every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation.

Therefore, we understand that the Mission of the Church is to make disciples who seek to obey the Great Commandment and fulfill the Great Commission. (Matthew 22:37-40; 28:19)

Specific to our local church, the Vision of FBC is to see lives transformed by the gospel as God makes people new, conforming them into the image of His Son. (Romans 8:29; 12:2)

We have a three-fold Strategy to achieve this Vision. This strategy helps us as we plan, carry out, and evaluate the ministries of FBC:

  1. We Engage believers and non-believers with the gospel through the church, both gathered and scattered. (Seen throughout the book of Acts, which records the activity of the early Church)
  2. We Equip believers to do the work of the ministry. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
  3. We Entrust the gospel to faithful Christians who will seek to obey the Great Commandment and fulfill Great Commission. (2 Timothy 2:2)
